The Champions bounce back

Premier League Defending Champions, Manchester United bounced back in style after their shock defeat at the hands of minnows Burnley as they slapped Wigan Athletic with 0-5 loss at home. After a mediocre half time performance that saw Wigan holding United 0-0, the latter totally dominated the second half. A goal frenzy was seen as all the players of their team came to the party.

Man United will be happy with their performance as the five goals came from 4 different players. Wayne Rooney was the first one to open the account in the 56th minute as he glanced a wonderful header past Kirkland. And there was no looking back after that. Dimitar Berbatov also opened his account this season as he converted a pass from Antonio Valencia two minutes later. Rooney was in the action again as he scored from inside the area to the left corner in the 65th minute.

Fergusson silenced his critics who had been shouting at his decision of taking injury prone Michael Owen as the England veteran received a pass from Nani and shot a close goal in the right corner goal. Then Nani scored in the two minutes of extra time to seal Wigan’s fate as he scored on a free kick from outside the penalty box.

Man U will be happy with their performance and are rising to the occasion. If they keep up the form, then they needn’t bother about the absence of Ronaldo anymore.
